If you’re here you’re probably shopping for an engineer. Good. I have been building and repairing transmitter sites and studios for many years now and could use the work. Unfortunately there’s a problem. The technical consultant/radio station relationship under which we both have worked for the last forty years is broken. Every year my expenses increase substantially and every year radio stations tighten their budgets. Doing consultant work for broadcast is no longer sustainable. No doubt this is a factor in the dwindling number of engineers doing this sort of work. As far as I can tell I am the last man standing in Vermont. My reward for sticking with it is that I am now homeless, unable to prove sufficient income to qualify for even the smallest apartment.
